Duke is a handsome, energetic, and affectionate boy who’s making huge strides in his confidence and training! Once wary of strangers, he’s now doing fantastic meeting new people—no growling, no fear, just a cautious sniff before he’s ready to be your friend. While he’s still a little unsure when someone new enters his home, it’s nothing a calm intro can’t fix.

On walks, Duke is polite with people and working hard on his leash manners around dogs. He gets super excited and tends to pull (even with a prong collar), especially when he sees another pup. He doesn’t growl—just whines, yaps, and tries his best to go say hi! With continued structure and training, he’ll get there. He would thrive in a home with another young, playful dog to help him get his energy out and model good behavior.

Duke is an active, playful guy who loves fetch and gets the zoomies in fenced areas. His recall is improving, but when there’s a dog nearby? His brain goes “dog.exe has taken over.” 😅 He’s also a big-time chewer (Benebones are his love language) and will even carry them with him on walks—iconic.

He’s been around children more lately and does great—he’s sweet, patient, and tolerant, though he’s still working on keeping all four paws on the ground when he gets excited. The good news? He’s super responsive to direction and eager to please. He also shows zero signs of resource guarding—he lets you touch or remove his food bowl and take toys right from his mouth without a fuss.

Duke’s Dream Home:

  • Active lifestyle

  • Another playful young dog

  • A family who’ll keep up with his training

  • A fenced yard = major bonus

  • Patient, loving people who will guide him as he continues to grow into the incredible companion he’s meant to be
