Meet Duke!

Duke is an 8-month-old Doberman Pinscher with a big heart and an even bigger appetite for treats! This handsome boy is house-trained and learning to be comfortable in his crate—he’ll settle after some initial protest, especially if there’s a tasty reward involved. At night, he sleeps peacefully in his crate without any fuss.

Duke is an active and playful pup who thrives with plenty of exercise and enrichment. Right now, he enjoys an hour of backyard exploration and leash walks throughout the day, but as he settles, he’ll need more activity to keep him happy. He loves sniffing on walks and is learning to walk well on a leash, especially with a prong collar for guidance.

Duke is a reserved and cautious pup who needs time to warm up to new people and dogs. When meeting other big dogs, he may bark and growl at first, but with slow introductions and patience, he shows his playful side. He hasn’t been tested with small dogs or cats, and his interactions with children have been limited—his excitement may lead to jumping, so older, dog-savvy kids would be best.

This food-motivated boy is eager to learn and knows commands like “sit” and “wait.” He loves playing with tennis balls—though fetching isn’t really his thing. Duke does have some mild separation anxiety and barks in his crate when left alone but settles in time. With new people, he can be wary at first, but treats quickly win him over!

Duke will do best in an experienced, active home that can provide structure, continued training, and patience as he builds confidence. A home with fewer visitors and one that understands his need for slow introductions will help him flourish. With the right family, Duke will grow into a loyal and loving companion—ready to be someone’s best friend for life!
